Missing you

It's my 3rd day in Chicago and I'm missing you badly. I've traveled many times before and I miss you everytime, but I end up missing you more and more each time I go out. I just want you to know that I think of you everyday while I'm away. I wake up with you in my thoughts and I think of you everytime I fall asleep. I wonder what goes through your mind while I'm gone. Where is mommy? Why is mommy gone so long? I know you're in good care with grandma and daddy so it puts me at ease. I'm counting down the days until I see you again. Just a few more days until I get to cuddle with my sweet little angel. Love you so much.

No Tears!

I can't believe it!!! You actually got your ears pierced on Saturday and you didn't even cry! :) I am so proud of you! Some of your relatives had asked me to take you in while you were still a baby but I wanted to wait. For one you kept scratching your ears when you were a baby and for two I wanted you to enjoy the experience and remember it. I'm so glad I waited. I was 50% sure you were going to back out of it and asked you at least 10 times if you were for sure you wanted to get them done that day. You reassured me by telling me you wanted purple diamond ones. So so proud of you sweetie.

there was no thunder or wind last night

Guess who climbed into bed with me last night and said "see i not scad of tunder and wind". I only let you stayed because I had already fallen asleep and too tired to be the bad guy.

Crazy Aunt Katey

So I guess Aunt Katey said she really wants to get you a cat when she gets back here from Japan. She found these Scottish fold cat that she is in love with and I happen to mention that you would love it. Of course she got all excited and thought it would be a good idea to give it to you as a gift when she comes back. I'm sorry babe but I had to tell her no. It is the cutest thing but I refused to get another pet and put more worries/responsibilties on myself. And Aunt Katey wanted to make sure I put this on your blog so you'd know that it's not her fault that you didn't get this cat as a pet.

And just so you know...you are a cat lover at this age. :)

paper napkins

Who would think a paper napkin can keep a little girl entertained for an hour? While I was trying to eat a late dinner, you kept yourself busy with a napkin making it into a blanket for Dolly while she sleeps. When Dolly woke up you turned that napkin into an apron so Dolly can bake pizza for dinner. After pizza dinner, Dolly needed a jacket to go outside. You poked two holes for her arms and tied the napkins together in the front. My favorite part was when you turned to me and ask "whaddo you tink"? It was the neatest paper napkin jacket ever. Maybe you'll become a fashion designer one day. Shoulda took a picture of it.

Later that night you said you can hear the scary wind in your ears and that you needed to sleep with us. I don't sleep well when you sleep with me so I said you can sleep with daddy in another room. It's either we make you sleep by yourself and you wake up in the middle of the night scared to death crying and wake us all up either way. Both daddy and I called you a chicken butt before you went to bed and you laughed about it knowing that it's true.

School is cancelled again because of the snow storm and windchills in the negative 30's.

Welp here I go guys. Hopefully I can keep this up and continue to blog all the important events involving Bree. As most of you know, I have the worst memory and can barely recall what happened last week. So I'm trying to keep a blog for Bree so she can have this to read when she gets older. :) Feel free to write anything (messages, life lessons, what you did/see that reminded you of her) on her blog.

Hi Breezy:

I know I know...I should have started this for you since you were in my stomach, but you know me. Always procrastinating and always behind on things. But better late than never. :) I'll try to remember all of your interests, funny sayings, eating habits, emotional displays, etc... from 2009 so at least you can get an idea of what you were like at 3.

• You're really into ballet right now. You go around the house spinning around and around, leaping up and down almost everyday. While you're dancing, I've caught you singing "Once upon a dream" from Sleeping Beauty. You've gotten 2 tutu's from your Aunt Uyen and Aunt Linda Pham also have you a ballet oufit for Christmas. G.I. grandma also gave you one. Aunt Thuy also gave you this really creepy life size doll that you love to dance with. Once you see pictures you'll understand why everyone is so creeped out by it. We've still to get you pointe shoes. You should be set after that. I plan to enroll you in ballet classes in August . I know you're going to love it.
• Anything princess or barbies are your favorite things to play with. You love to play pretend with them, making one be the mom and baby(ies) and you guys are always going shopping. I'm sure you didn't get that from me.
• This Christmas we bought you a train set, which you've been able to incorporate your barbies, princess and other toys with the trains and cars that your dad bought you. So I'm glad you're playing with all types of toys.
• Some trips that we took in 2009-San Diego to visit Aunt Katey, Las Vegas to visit Aunt Sun and her family, and Houston to visit cousin Caitlin and Hanna. We also visited with Aunt Linda who ate a baby. you'll have to ask me about that story sometime.
• Movies we've seen: Princess and the Frog, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Ice Aged...I can't seem to remember the rest. Sorry baby girl.
• You're really picky when it comes to food. You love bread, fruits, rice and chicken. Everything else has to have some kind of reward before we can make you eat it. You love love candy and chocolate. OH you love pho! Almost forgot about that. You are really sensitive when it comes to smells and start gaging when it's too much for you to handle. You're doing a better job though as you get older.
• You started preschool last August and doing well in the classes. Your teacher SueAnne said you were really quiet at the beginning but now you've come out of your shell. You love show and tell days but have a hard time deciding what to take to show your class friends. Next year you'll go 3 times a week. So far you've learned about the NE plains, animals, halloween, Thanskgiving and Christmas. This month your class will start learning about snow and the winter.
• Your favorite sayings: what the?, you silly goose, Oh my goodness, what is this about?, ...i can't remember what else right now, but I know there are more.
• Favorite songs: Hot and Cold, Single Ladies, and Bad Romance.

Ok...that's all for now. I'll do my very best to keep this blog updated. Wished I would have started this a long time ago. I know you will enjoy this when you're older.
